Poe Introduces AI-Powered App Creation with Poe Apps

Quora’s AI platform Poe has unveiled an innovative new feature called Poe Apps, allowing users to build custom AI-powered web applications through a simple natural language interface.

With Poe’s App Creator, users can describe the app they want to build, specifying which AI models to incorporate—whether it’s OpenAI’s o3-mini, Google’s Veo 2 for video generation, or other advanced models. Powered by Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 Sonnet, the tool automatically generates JavaScript-based code for the app’s interface and logic. Users can modify this code to fine-tune their applications.

🔹 How Poe Apps Work

Poe Apps can function either alongside Poe’s chatbot interface or as standalone visual tools. The generated apps can be shared with other Poe users, though for now, the feature is only available on the web, with iOS and Android support coming soon.

Each time an app interacts with an AI model, it consumes Poe points, which free users receive in daily allocations. Meanwhile, Poe Premium subscribers ($5/month) get flexible point packages for extended usage.

🔹 Real-World Use Cases

Quora has demonstrated several examples of Poe Apps in action, including:
3D Anime Art Generator – Converts photos into anime-style 3D art using OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Black Forest Labs’ Flux-Pro-1.1.
AI-Powered Image Eraser – Removes unwanted objects from images using Bria’s Bria Eraser model.

🔹 What’s Next for Poe Apps?

Quora has hinted at future monetization opportunities for creators, allowing them to earn directly from their apps. While the technology is still in its early stages, Poe Apps align with industry trends like Anthropic’s Artifacts and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Canvas, demonstrating how AI-generated applications are evolving.

Poe Apps are currently available at a discounted early-access price. With AI models becoming more advanced in code generation, the potential for custom AI-powered applications is only just beginning to unfold.
